Your first mistake is buying flowtecks. The y pipe is 3" though. Why would you pay same price for flowtechs when you can get alot better header for? |
are they not any good??? my friend has em on his car and he likes em really well. is the pacesetter that much better? |
Im not sure what size the flowtech y is and it doesnt seem like anyone else on here is for sure either, your best bet would be to email or call ls1speed or the manufacturer directly. As for headers are you looking for mid quality headers (ceramic) or top of the line (stainless)?? Ive got hookers on my car which I believe are made by holley just like the flowtechs and I havent had any problems as of yet (only around a few thousand miles on em though). In the pics for the flowtechs it looks like they use a reducer but im not sure? Id stay with pacesetters or hookers, a lot of people have them with no problems at all. Im not saying the flowtechs are bad but these have been proven many times and are around the same price. My hookers came with plug n play O2 extensions and my buddies pacesetters just came with connectors to splice the O2 wires to make them longer. I prefer mine over the splicing and I went with my hookers cause I got them on sale for $360 or $370 shipped cant recall exactly. Hope this helps |
Yes mine are flowtech and they are equal length unlike pacesetter if that makes any difference hp wise. |
Ok, I dont know if you have ordered them yet & its your money so get what you want. If you want some solid advise from someone who has installed all of the 4oo dollar headers then here goes. Jet Hot - Equal length, 3/8 flanges Hooker - old ones were equal length & 5/16 flanges Pacesetter - I dont think are equal length, 3/8 flanges Flotech - I think are equal length but are piss thin 1/4 flanges that bend when you torque them down. It will end up looking like a snake |

You should be able to get the hookers or pacesetters in a ceramic coating with the ORY for under $600. My votes still for the hookers but like previously stated either should be fine. Check in the sales section as a few sponsers were just hving sells on these headers and still might be, goodluck. |

I went to texas speed for my Y because I wanted cats but will probably be going to an ORY pretty soon. Check out the sponsers section for specials going on as well as ls1peed, byunspeed, ws6store, etc and just see who can get you what you want for the best price. Also keep in mind quite a few sponsers have free s&h, just shop around. As for a y id go with a matching y from the brand of headers youre going with. |
thanks guys just ordered some pacesetter headers was looking at flowtechs but every one on here was thumbs down on flowtechs and that helped me choose the pacesetter lt's. i hope that they aint hard to install |
Well Pacesetter is about as easy to install as it gets |
