I was going to go with QTPs but ill save $550 and use the money for a nice cam. I plan on adding the flowmaster y-collector to the Pacesetter y pipe as long as they dont crimp them. Otherwise Ill get a custom Y.

Yes, the top is flattened down in one area, it's not nearly as bad as stock, but yes, it's crimped.

Okay, then if anything, I think this is why the Pacesetters would put less HP than other systems, because ofthe low quality Ypipe. With a good mandrel bent non-crimped ypipe and a flowmaster y-collector, I think the pacesetters should make within 15% of the HP of the top dollar brands. Like an extra 25-26RWHP instead of 30-31. 5 hp is worth saving $500 to me!

I just got off the phone with Pacesetter and they said they use mandrel bent pipe so there should be no crimp in the y-pipe.

The Pacesetters are a Hooker knock off. Their Y-pipe is also, but instead of putting in three indentations, they just made a continuous flattened area. Most likely because the Hooker would still bang the floorboards a little, and its most likely cheaper.

There is nothing wrong with the y-pipe design. Like was mentioned earlier the hooker y-pipe has three indentions, where as the pacesetter has one long flat area. Now I'm no "flow-guru" but it seems to me that hooker y would create turbulance with the multiple indentions. I can tell you this much the pacesetter has NO CLEARANCE ISSUES WHAT SOEVER. These are a quality designed header. Save your money for the cam.

The y Pipe looks pretty close to hookers but hookers is not as big of a crimp.
