kooks vs qtp's

So ive been talkin to a few friends of mine n everyone of them sais that kooks are the best header made. But i heard awhile back that qtps are good also. i was just wondering how much better kooks are than qtp's because the qtp' are def cheaper. Thanks in advance for all the help

ALOT of people have been having issues with the collector leaking in the middle of the primaries. I have a friend with the exact same problem. Do yourself a favor and get either a set of Kooks or American racing headers. Byunspeed has some of the best deals on Kooks. Thats where i got mine.

Thanks for the info. I have about 1200 saved up do you think that will be enough for the headers n off road y?

The headers are the same, pick one.

^^^^ He's right. The Kooks and QTPs are the same design with the way they bend and route the primaries. The main difference is that QTPs have HVMCs and they're polished. The risk is that they can leak because there's no way to weld the inside of the 4th primary when they are assembled. Some guys have good luck, but others get welds that look terrible. From what I have read Kooks and AR seem to have much better quality control.

My ARH headers and catted y are put together in my living room right now. Pieces of art:D The collector spike is beautiful.

this has been debated soo many times, it's really a matter of preference. some like KOOKS, some like QTP and some like ARH. I'm well, biased so :)

Imo " and I have had both " the kooks headers and qtp headers are about the same but the y pipe on the kooks did fit alot better then the qtp " at least on my cars it did ".

WS6_00 Apr 18, 2008 01:00 PM

concerning the y-pipe I'd get a custom one, it costs the same and it's sure to fit. just my other .02

Don't forget the new TSP 1 7/8" long tube headers! They are fully ceramic coated & sell for well under $500!!

QTP'S here and no performance issues

Relapse Apr 18, 2008 03:44 PM

QTP's here and no performance issues, HOWEVER terrible fitting. VERY tight fitment of these headers, If i could do it again, i'd go Kooks or ARH. but as far as how mine run right now, it's night and day in performance, With my mods in my sig, i put down 348 RWHP and 367 lb/torque

depends on your set up, im going with qtp LT's electric cutout and a super quiet high flowing slp dual/dual

so with a push of a button i can go mean and loud to super quiet.....yes its worth it

Skeet Skeet Apr 19, 2008 06:45 PM

i already have slp loudmouth n thats why i want the long tubes to make it loud as hell lol n when i really wanna scare people i could just open up the cut out mwahaha. How much power do u get with a cut out?

you might not like the rasp.....its going to be very loud, most gains on a cut-out are between 5-7rhwp on a bolt on car and ive seen as much as 15rwhp on a heads and cam car with the cut out open
