Pacesetter LT's welds, anyone else....
 

I just noticed today that the areas around the welds on my PS LT's seems whitish in color. They definitely werent like that when they were delivered. When engine cooled off, I grabbed both headers and pulled firmly just to see and they seem secure. I have about 20 or more miles to go before I hit an even 100 miles on the new headers and re-check the bolt(s) torque. Just wondering if what I am seeing may be a problem. It's got me a little nervous thinking the welds are gonna give. Could they be getting too hot? I still have stock thermostat and the engine temp gets up to 210 rather quickly since the install. Still running open headers, awaiting delivery of my ORY. I appreciate the input. I just hope nothing is wrong with em. I really don't want to have to do this install again. I have attached a pic (a poor one) of what I am talking about to the best of my knowledge. Thanks again.

Not sure about the welds on the flange. But it looks like you still have your AIR hooked up to the headers. If so, I have read many threads that guys have had their tube break off the header from all the vibration and when the motor torques. I would just keep an eye on it.

Yeah I thought about that. I have the AIR plates to close em off and remove the pipes. Will do that tomorrow. I'm just a little concerned about those "white" areas around the welds. I even searched thoroughly and havent found any posts about anyone having any similar problems or even real problems with their Pacesetters at all.

could be the coating maybe? doesnt look like anything to be worried about IMO.

might just be a poor coating job

mine did the same thing i think cuz it gets real hott in that area the coating burns really quick. dont worry about mine are the same

I think that's just the ceramic coating.

If thats all, then ok. I like the experience of doing the headers, but that doesnt mean I want to do it again. lol.
