Default Mass Air Flow Problem?

service engine light came on, started stalling after starting. Scanned 4 codes came up: P0101, P0102, P0103, P03335. Cleared codes, P0101, P0102, P0103 came up. Took off MAF, car starts and ran perfectly only one code displayed with MAF off : P0102. Service Engine light came back on. Cleared codes again, put MAF back on and car wouldnt run good barely started. So i guess it must be the MAF because it runs good when i took it off. Is there anyway to check the wires to see if it is faulty before i have to buy a new one. Any insight would be appreciated to help me fix this.

Thanks

I would agree that it is the MAF. With the MAF off, the car ran on the default speed density tune. The car ran well w/the MAF off which is pretty much confirmation that it's the MAF. Go to a slavage yard & tell them you want a MAF for a 99 Camaro. There are several car & truck models that use the same MAF. You can pick one up for $25 there. Good-luck

BTW: I have replaced my MAF w/ a salvage yard MAF before without any trouble.

Try carefully cleaning your MAF. The oil from the K&N will screw up its readings. You can buy MAF cleaner at autozone - I think anything that evaporates without leaving a residue (like brake cleaner) will also work. Just be very gentle with it. I've been dyno tuned twice and the first thing my tuner did both times was clean the MAF.
