Default New Meziere Electric water pump pics, mine looks different

Howdy,

I just got the new Meziere pump in the mail today. Pretty cool so far, but mine looks a little different.

On the ones that Thunder sent out is the idler pulley steel or aluminium? Mine is definately steel. Its kinda heavy and has abit more turning resistance than I would have expected. Anyway here are the pictures of the production unit. Mine is Black in color...

Nope not steel. The pulley is T6 (aluminum) hard anodized. That is the reason the black has a gold tinge to it on the pulley.

I am getting one at summit tomorrow, do they require a relay or just power that comes on with the key?

Yes, you should pickup a new relay to run the pump. Its just the best way to set it up. If you look on the last page of the "Meziere water pump pictures 56K warning" post you will see some wiring tips.
