Did you break the oil pressure sending unit? It's on the back of the block, closer to the drivers side bank.

Common mistake when putting on an intake... I think you need a 1" deep socket to take it off and put the new one on.

All you have to do is bump it and it breaks sometimes.

It doesn't plug into the intake, but the brake booster hose on the back of the intake has to go over the sending unit when you put it on. Pretty much everybody breaks it at least once. Time to take the intake back off.....

You broke the oil pressure sending unit...it sits right behind the intake and breaks pretty easily when you move the intake around.

You def. broke the oil pressure sending unit. I did the same thing on my '01 SS when I swapped to a fast 90/90. It was a PITA to replace it on the back of the engine becasue it broke off so close to the base of the unit. Not fun!

This is actually a pretty common problem. it happens all the time. you can pick up a oil pressure sending unit from your local parts store.

Personally, I would only buy a sender from GM and not Autozone. Seems like I've read of people having problems with aftermarket senders.

Nice job noticing the lack of pressure and shutting the car off quickly.

I had a customer today drive their car ~30 miles to the dealership and tell me it doesn't have any oil pressure. "The sending unit was bad." The customer actually thought it didn't have oil pressure though...and drove the car...

It needs to be replaced. You can't chuck it up to a bad sending unit and leave it.
