Cutout on stock exhaust, what kind of gains?

Default Cutout on stock exhaust, what kind of gains?

this is on a stock 02 z28. what are the numbers?

I picked up 6 hp/ 6 tq on back to back runs with the cutout open. It was in the I-pipe of my stock SS catback.

I picked up 13 hp and 8 tq at the wheels on my 2000SS with a Qtec in the i pipe.

My friend picked up 19 rwhp with it's cutout open. Back to back runs. 97 Z28, all bolt-ons, stock exhaust.

I dynoed mine on and off it did 5hp more off. But i have headers and no cats

On my bone stock LT1 I got 10hp and 1tq over the stock exhaust.

You have to take into consideration that most of the HP are peak numbers. Its the power gained through out the whole power band that you should be interested. A good rule of thumb is, the closer to the rear you place the cutout the more tq, the closer to the front the more hp.

Most ORY's will not fit stock manifolds due to the fact that they are much shorter than LT's. I believe Bassani makes an ORY for stock manifolds, but knowing how that company is, the price should be in the $500 range Im sure. Good product tho.

thanks i was just wondering since I have one to go along with my LTs but I have yet to put them on the car.
