Yes, you will need to block off the holes in the headers/manifolds. I believe www.thunderracing.com has a kit to do this.

I took the entire thing out, and taped the electic plug off with electrical tape

i have a 2000SS and pulled all that **** out and got a ses, put it back (the vacume box) as well as the pump that now pumps air into my lid (JUST TO TRY OUT MORE AIR) wish i knew how to make it pump all the time for a little more air, pumps pretty good for about a minute. the hoses i trashed and left the box to stand alone with the one line from close to intake only on it and no more ses! pm me for more if you dont get my mumbling

This must be a 2000 and up thing. The AIR system in my 99 didn't have any vacuum lines, just the AIR tubing itself.

just plug up the hole, on the valve cover. Use one of the the bolts that holds on the coil packs they are a perfect fit.

WS6snake-eater, im not really sure what your talking about. on that little peice on the driver valve cover, i pluged the other end of the vacuum line that goes into the top and i pulled out the 3 air lines and the vacuum line in the middle on top of the tree. so im sure im all set on the vacuum end, i think. let me knwo if im wrong. now im just working on pulling out that vacuum tree.

Yes you are playing with your PCV system. Make sure you buy a kit from somewhere so the job gets done right.

what needs to be pluged? i pluged off the exhaust manifolds, and i put a vacuum plug on the other end of the vacuum line that goes into the top of the vacuum tree. what else is left to plug off anything?
