What are comp 978's rated to for lift?

Coil bind is at 1.195" and ideally you should stay at least .060" away from that. They install at about 1.800 on an LS1, so that give you a max lift of .545".

that's for 978's not 987's right?!?!
I have a cam that does .595, I was told those springs should hold it well, doens't seem like it! WTF?!?

a 987 has a coil bind of 1.150 and installs at 1.800 so you can go .590 with them.
The 978's have a coil bind like Brad said at 1.195, but you should install them at 1.850 to get more lift than .545, they will go to .595 then.
The 977's install at the same height and can take a .600 spring. Use the 977's not the 978's.
