Forged Bottom End Pricing

I am looking to get my stock ls1 some forged pistons, rods, balancing. I am curious about how much this will cost either local shops or any sponsors. I am just curious what the average rate will be. I am not looking for more cubes, just looking to get the block cleaned up, machined and some new internals. I want to use the stock crank since I will never have more then 500-600 horses. I was looking at Mahle pistons and Scat Rods, Any help is appreciated Thanks

I am not looking for piston prices or rods, I am asking how much would it cost to get the block machined and then balanced rotating assembly installed. I am looking for people who have done this before or sponsors who have. Thanks

i would say for something low on power naturally aspirated i would go with diamond pistons and eagle rods because they are well priced and proven. if your going forced induction or nitrous its a different story. just call a sponsor on the side and ask them if they have any deals going now or soon with the holidays coming up.

My price

I have Diamond Pistons LS1 Forged Flat Top Piston set w/ -2cc Valve Reliefs, 3.905" BORE / 3.622" Stroke / 6.125" Rods / 1.315" Comp Height / .927 x 2.500 Wrist Pins Included which ran me 525 or so from SDparts.com. this was just the pistons and the wrist pins. NO RINGS. The connecting rods i went with were the SCAT H beam rods 6.125 length which ran me 450. also from sdparts.com. you can chose to go with the I beam rods for about 100 dollars less but if you are going to spend this much to forge the bottom end whats another 100 bucks for rods that are good to 800 HP. trust me i did a lot of shopping when i was buying my parts looking for the best price that i could find and still ordering from the same people to save from confusion. the rings price are miniscule compared to everything else. so far as machining and balancing i think i have about 300-400 including replacing a sleeve, cant really remember the price to be honest. So your case it should be much cheaper. Hope this helps. horsepower and reassurance thats its not going to come apart on you isnt cheap!!!

Im in texas and and i paid 670 for all machine work balanced and assembled with file fit rings

Machine work prices vary wildly depending on location. Around here, it's ~$100 for a quick hone to fit new pistons, ~$40 for a crank polish. Balancing is between $150-200 depending on how much (if any) mallory metal is required. You being on the west coast, those prices might double.
