Different cam would be a good idea. To bring the power band down and have more power in a streetable form a set of heads would be good and you could use your current cam. I can set you up with a head package or grind a custom cam for you to meet your goals with your current setup.

There are many cams that will get you to 400rw. Take your time do some research, don't just buy the first one you see that makes 400rw. Although I make 400+ cam only and love the cam I run but there are so many out there to choose from. The cam you are running is very small. Call TSP(Texas Speed and plerformance) or one of the sponsers on this site. YOu could get a costum grind as stated above if that is the route you want try Pat G or Pred.

Its a trade off no matter how much someone tweaks the valve events. Its people's definitions that are different. What feels good to me will be different to you.
I can custom grind a cam for you to hit your mark, you will be given a form to fill out with all kinds of questions on it to properly spec your cam.
We usually just grind cams for our engine customers but I am offering this service to others as well. All my cams are speced by Erik at HKE, many years of experience and a leader in LSx engine building technology.
Look for our special series of LS cams to be released soon as well

yeah, you can run those cams. but I was thinking with the heavy gto you would want something smaller for more low end torque. Or you could change to 4.10 gears and run the big cams it just depends what you want.

what kind of dyno? any track times/mph? i'd think an m6 ls2 with those mods would be within 5whp of your 400whp goal. the car should put down 360 with long tubes and a tune. who tuned it? i'd look into tweaking what you've got because i think you'd be surprised at the results of YOUR SETUP properly tuned.

I was thinking that you would have at least 20rwhp more than what you have now and especially if it is tuned. Either way a better cam is the way to go or just juice it like the bird in your sig

Search chrs1313 cam or mine in sig. They are a pred-z custom comp grind. Chrs cam is called the ":El Toro" cam. It pulls very hard down low like you want for a GTO cam and gives up very little up top to the Donkey Dick cams. His times speak for themselves....And he makes 422rwhp cam only/tq 390 IIRC.
I have a little more exhaust bias on mine since I am running Cats. Chrs runs a SWEEET homemaid Ram Air that really picks his up on the track. They are a combo of XFI/XE/R lobes. On the street I shred my 275/17 MT DR"s up to 25mph so that gives you an idea what this cam makes down low. Good for a heavy GTO. It is still carrying at my 6500 shiftpoint so you need a good intake so it won't lay down on you.
My thoughts are this would be a nice cam for you. If you don't go this route Ed curtis seems to spec a lot cams the GTO crowd loves but I think the "El Torro would kick *** for you.

I've seen bolt-on LS2s tuned well hit 400 on a dyno...
**** I have an LS1 with exhaust and headers with a streetsweeper HT cam and hit 400 in Arizona heat....
400 is easy....aim higher, lol.

I like doing it like this:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...stock-cam.html
Advanced Induction CNC ported 241 cylinder heads with stock valves
STOCK CAM
Comp 1.8 ratio rocker arms
Meziere electric water pump
Kook's 1 3/4 long tube headers with off road mid pipes
FAST 90mm intake manifold with Nick Williams 90mm TB
Bassani catback exhaust
ASP underdrive crank pulley
Volant cold air intake
Exxedy twin disk clutch
JR Racing dyno tune
