Default 346ci FAST 78 or 92 and what cam?

Hi Guys, asking for a friend who has a stock bottom end, but flowed LS6 heads. He wants to buy a FAST and doesnt know which size to buy. He is thinking that the 92 will make the motor bog low down? Also what cam, he has a 228/230 at the moment, would he see gains by going to late 230's? heads have been milled by 15 thou, and he does not want to flycut the pistons. Thanks in advance.

the 92 is the way to go. shouldn't lose anything down low.

going from a 228/230 cam to something in the upper 230s will probably gain some power, but not significantly.
and he may lose low end power.

i say maximize the setup he has

Go 92mm for sure. It will not hurt anything down low.

i have used both and i didnt like ether one wich is why im waiting on the new edelbrock ... they both lost a but load down low and the power they gain is at 6500 rpm
not wanting to argue with anyone this has just so been the case with my cars and 5 others around me said the same thing they might be ok for a big ci motor but theres alot better for the money

From what I've seen the 92 is very good, but it gives high end power not really low end. Go with a camshaft that will make very good low end power or something like the he has now. See what thunderracing has. It all depends on what he really wants for his car.

92 is better then the 78... a 78 is a little better then stock... try talking to some of the sponsors on the forum about possible cam combos like texas speed and vengeance racing they have a knowledgeable staff that will help you get the most power out of your setup

Without a doubt, use the FAST 92mm. The only real difference between the 78 and 90/92 is the throttle body size.

I run a 228/230 cam with the 92mm and didn't lose anything.
