Porting 243's HOW MUCH??

Got a set of 243's off an LS6 :D, I am wondering if you guys might have any suggestions on who to take them to? I am in Lemoore Ca, the closer the better.

I was going to send mine off to get cnc'd, but after looking at dyno numbers with people only dynoing 15-20rwhp more after porting really turned me off. I could not justify spending $600+ for that much horse power.

on the other hand, you could send them to TSP, Livernois, TEA, etc... Tons of sponsors could help you out....

west coast cylinder heads

IMO, your best bet is to sell them and buy some CNC'd ones already.

Seeing LS6 heads sell for $5-$600.

CNC'd brand new ones from TSP are $1100.

Hell, im selling some BNIB PRC Stg. 1 LS6 heads for $1000

I made 119RWHP after cam and 241's I sent to Carry @ ETP, at the time. $1400.00 including Stage 2 CNC, bigger stainless valves, springs, titanium ret, shipped to the door. $1000.00 cheaper than aftermarket heads all done and same flow #'s. Your 243's should make a few HP more and may be less expensive today. Call companies to find out. WCCH are near you and does nice work. He did Veee8's L-92's and the work and #'s looked very good.

We can CNC port your 243 casting heads and CNC valvejob for $650.00. We also have additional options for upgrading from the factory valves to stainless 2.02"/1.57" valves and several spring options to install if you would like. We also don't mind milling the heads for you to bump the compression should you choose to do so. We typically see a 40+ HP gain over a factory LS1 cylinder casting! Feel free to give us a call or shoot me a PM with any questions!

Thanks!
Jon

I think Livernois only charges 500 to CNC port your bare castings... By far I have been happiest with their program out of all of the 243's I have used. Their 220 runner flows what most companies 227+ runners flow.

Give Rick a call there 313-561-5500

Your best bet is to get in the dyno section & see who's ls6 heads are performing. The $650 TSP charges is full cnc porting, cleaning used cores, milling, cnc valve job & assembly.

Give us a call & we can discuss with you possible options for your cylinder heads...

my vote is on a TEA stage 2 porting.. they outflow prety much every comparable head..

All sound like good options for porting... All great companies.

It would be cheaper to just buy some new CNC ported heads.

I have low mileage 243 heads, I paid $500.00

New LS6 yellow springs, I paid $50.00

New LS6 sodium filled hollow valves, I paid $120.00

I want to get some Ti-retainers. They will be about $225+ .

All said and done it will cost more but it's what I want.
