MTI's C2 vs. Stealth II Hey guys. i have a 98 T/A that i'm trying to put a package together for. I'm thinking Hooker LTs, ORY pipe, one of the 2 cams mentioned above, and of course MTI tunning. i already have a borla catback, lid, K&N, and the free mods. the car is an A4, and will have a yank 3600 put in when i do the cam swap. was sure i was going to get the C2, until i saw the Col.'s numbers. now i need help. thanks guys. |
Re: MTI's C2 vs. Stealth II There is quite a bit of difference between those two cams: C2 - Healthy Lope, decent idle...makes power everywhere, but seems to make more between 2500-5500rpms at least it did on my '99 TA. I got 421rwhp & 401rwtq thru a stock 10-bolt with this cam & stage 1 heads from MTI. Stealth - NO LOPE!, silky smooth idle...makes most of its power from 3000-6500 rpms, but it maintains the stock level hp/tq below 3000 rpms which most big cams do not do. I got 405rwhp & 375rwtq with the SS1 & stage 1 heads from MTI in my C5. Hope this helps you some! Randy |
Re: MTI's C2 vs. Stealth II I tend to agree with TTtop. My cam isn't a C2 but it's similar 224 XE-R on a 113 LSA. My numbers are similar to his as well see sig. |
Black Bird can you give me some times and numbers on your cam. Im looking to put a c2 type cam with a 113lsa in my m6. |
It's been reported here that the Colonel is not running the actual Stealth2, but a custom grind. He is also running MTI LS6 heads also. Look here https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/193964-opinions-please.html for what a Stealth2 and MTI S2E heads did on a 04 vette that I installed and tuned. Also, the cam does have a small lope. |

Yes Colonel SII was a prototype and slightly different that the MTI production SII cam. I'm waiting for my AFR's to install the SII with most bolt ons and I'll let you know how this baby runs. SII does have a lope and was confirmed to me by Jayson (MTI) as so. SII is actually 224/221, .576/.581 116+4lsa LUNATI grind on (XE-R or similar lobes) has a 49 ramp rate which falls in the XE-R category. IMO that cam will love small shots of N2O (100>150) |
