Valve Train Exposed

I pulled off my valve covers yesterday b/c i am going to be painting them. Now i did not put anyhting over my valve train b/c i did not anything falling in there. So they are bare and exposed.

Obvioulsy my hood is closed, and i put my car cover back over the car. Will it be ok? Should have i covered them up? I don't think rust will start or anyhting. I plan to have them back on by the weekend

Yea, you have amply covered it up. you can lay a garbage bag over them if it'll make you sleep better, but they will be perfectly fine.

The reason i was thinking that should be fine is b/c A) the car is in a garage. B) the hood is closed no dirt can get up there. And C) my car cover reaches the ground so if there was any mvement of anykind my car cover would pretty much block it.

so i think i am ok :)
