Sucks man, hope you have the extra cash to spend to get the car rolling again..
The reason he prob didnt come help you is he figured you would beat him up and take his money..
you might wanna invest in a lower mileage motor so this doesnt happen to you sooner than expected
Goodluck!

If it were me, id either find a good shape ls1 shortblock or lq4 shortblock, run a ms3 or ms4 with some 243s. From the looks of things only the pan and covers and the intake are good, crank may not be bad but I wouldnt use it without having it checked out. Even a good shape used shortblock can be had for a good price right now, that would be the best way to go, even an ls1 with a stock crank and forged rods and pistons will handle about anything you can throw at it.

Yes it does. I know the head it self is done. But would I be able to use those springs and the push rods and he rest of the stuff inside the head or are they shot as well.
Plane on getting a used block and heads. Down grading the cam and swithing over what I can.

so you had it for 30 min and made it 40 miles, sounds like you had you foot to the floor a little bit huh, slap it in the belt as a bad luck deal, let him get what he deserves if he wronged you, and build a better motor. and your heads are shot for sure. **** can the motor and start over. i know i wouldnt put anything that came out of that motor into a new build, why save a few bucks on something from the old motor that could wipe our a multi thousand dollar new motor.
good luck

Ouch!!!
Man that really sucks! Even though the car was probably sold as is,I would still call the previous owner and hope for the best. He probably installed the cam and heads before he found out that he would have PTV issues with an MS4 and 5.3 heads. Once he realized this the car probably went up for sale, making it someone elses problem. While I don't think that you will get a full refund, maybe he will throw you a grand or so to help you get it back on the road. Anyway, good luck with it!

So to update everyone who commented in here.
I tried to contact the seller with no luck.
So am on my own here and looking to buy something not stock. Would prefer a LS1 long block with a stock crank and forged rods and pistons.
But I only got $2000.00 to spend… It’s all the bank would give me.
So am asking if anyone has seen a good deal out there to please forward it to me.

I was wondering if you had killed this guy yet. You can build a forged 347 for a little less than that if you shop around. I had $750 into a set of New diamond pistons, an LS1 short block with a weak cylinder, and a set of SCAT H beam rods. With the machine work, bearings, and fasteners it would have probably worked out to around $1500-1750.

I think the seller is not responsible for the engine failer based on him driving it for 3 hours to meet you, that said I would still try to neg getting money back on the heads not being as advertised how ever you have to get in contact.
