Pricing? What can the spring pockets be opened up to?

triggerjerk May 12, 2009 07:12 PM

I think we need an AFR 205 vs TFS 205 sponsor shootout! :)

52172 May 12, 2009 09:06 PM

is the price the same as the 215 I would imagine?

99Ls1fever May 12, 2009 10:20 PM

Hope not cause they dont flow as much as the PRC heads for 1/2 the price.....?

I think he is talking about the TF 215's.

For the chromoly retainer heads $1995.95. Ti retainer heads are $2195.95.

The spring pockets are 1.480" and can be opened up to handle a 1.550" spring but you can not go deeper on the pockets.

Perhaps may I suggest that you make a small writeup on where and when do you recommend those heads (application, cam range, rpm, complementing mods etc..)
Why them over the 215s, why them over stock casting ?etc....

I agree, Im curious to know too.

OK my cam runs 595"-598" lift that falls below the 600" max but is quite close. Is this safe or would I need upgraded springs?

velocity. There is more to a head then flow numbers.

205cc head vs a 220cc head.

bigger port. bigger port flows more air which = higher cfm/flow numbers

you lose velocity though. so unless you have the cubic inches or forced induction to push that much air through a bigger port, your going to give up low end power.
