Sorry.. long night..Believing you have stock heads, the cam would be a nice addition, i would change valve springs though. Depends on how far you want to take it, your going to see that one project seems to turn into another.

yea aint that the truth. well i plan on changing the heads over time. but i was just curious to how the cam was across the rpm range. i have thought of puttin a bigger cam like the one you have but i dont think it would fit my needs. considering that my car is a street car i just wanted the cam to kick in way before 3000-3500 rpms. basically want the cam to kick in out of the gate from a dead stop and not stop pullin.

Well bigger cams want more air/fuel and the same for expulsion, ie; more flow, so supporting mods need to be in the works to get the most out of the cam. If your on a budget like most of us, I'd start with better intake, if your is stock. Like I said better valve springs/pushrods are going to be a must, and maybe port your heads or shop the classified section here, I see alot of LS6 intakes/heads..going pretty reasonable..

Thats a great cam. Very similar to the grind I use for the cars I build. Makes great power, has a nice curve, and will peak about 6400rpms.

I had a similar cam, 226/232 .609/.604 113+2, made 443rwhp running hot on the dyno with prc stg 2.5 5.3l heads, about 10.8:1 compression and a ported fast92.I liked it but my car is turning into less of a dd and more for track.

Id for sure do valve springs, and while you have the heads off use some thinner gaskets to bump the compression to around 11:1 and im sure with your current mods you will be happy with the power, and later when you add better heads they will come with upgraded valves anyway.

i like em. they fit pretty well. they gave me alot more ground clearance then my old slp headers did. and after the swap in full exhaust set-ups it seems like my car came to life with the true dual set-up

I daily drive my car and wanted a cam that sounds awesome and gained power everywhere. My cam is smaller than the cam you listed, but you can see that I gained power everywhere. I dynoed the car starting around 2000 rpm when it was mostly stock so you can see I didn't lose low end power at all. I shift around 1500 rpm and can lug down around 1000 rpm no problem. I've pulled it to 6700 rpm and the power doesn't drop off. My setup was done with a tight budget but I am very happy so far.

Here is what I did: https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...80hp-53tq.html
