Quarter mile times with 228r cam?

Alright so by next week my car should be finished...knock on wood. Anyways, after a tune, what would you guys say a good time to aim for is? This will be on mickey Thompson drag radials btw, I was hoping with a tune, cam only, I could get into low 12s with a cam only setup. I've never seen a 228r cammed car run at the track before, so im not sure how the mid range cams like this one do but ya..just curious

i have a 226/226 and i went 12.1 that was with a 1.7 60ft and full weight. youll hit that no problem. after i pull weight and get the 60ft down i should be 11.9s. let us know how it goes im looking to step up a little bit soon i think

I have almost 450 RWHP with the 228R. I turned 10.6 @ 134 MPH trap time with a 1.50 60' time.

Ok, that was during a dream and a wish :dark:...............But I do have the 228R lol

I didnt make it to the track this weekend like I planned. Once again it rained on Friday so that automatically closes the track the following day. I had a lot of work to do anyway so I probably wouldnt have made it. Wanted to go Sunday but had other things to do that were more important. I will run the car this weekend providing it doesnt rain.

My car has run a best of 11.66 @ 116 full-weight and on 17in. M/T drag radials. You should have no problems hitting high 11's.

transamfreak01 05-18-2009 11:46 PM

thats carzy though hitting 11.60s on a step bigger than my cam. makes me wish i woulda went bigger

The cam has less to do with 1/4 times than almost anything else. The entire setup of the car determines how fast it will get down the track, not a cam by itself.

I've seen 224 cams go 11.50's, and I've seen 240 duration cams go 12.20's. And vise versa. The setup of the vehicle will determine how well the cam performs.
;)

Damn your MPH seems low... I've seen bolt on cars hit a 12.3 @ 116 on street tires here in FL, what was your DA?

You have a strong running truck, I believe I have seen you running at TCD before.
