Default What kinda power do you think Ill pick up with AFR 205 heads

Right now I have a torquer 2 cam ls6 intake, long tubes and 241 heads. I put down 383whp and 363 torque. What kinda gains do you think I have with the AFR heads. If you dont think these would be a good choice what would you recomend. Im wanting more power but I dont want to sacrifice driveability.

Read the write up by Patrick G, he makes some really good points about head flow, and the relationship to intake manifolds, and putting together a good combo, instead of just buying alot of stuff, and hoping it works..

thats the best advice I can offer.. always read the stickys

I would just send your 243s to TEA and get them ported stage 2. You should get another 30+rwhp at least.

Agreed.

Not taking anything away from AFR, but you'd only be spending about half the price for similar gains by just having your 243's CNC'd.

Another thing to take note of, you're not going to see as big of a jump HP going from a 243 to ported head as you would a 241 or older casting. You're already about 15rwhp ahead of a stock headed LS1 motor with the 243s.
