would i need to machine the block for clearence for a 383 stroker in a 98 ls1?

DASHTI 12-05-2009 11:29 PM

ls1 bob wehigt

how much the bob wehigt the cranckshaft 3.622 ls1

jblack6527 03-11-2010 07:03 PM

How much of this would transfer to a 5.3? Is there somewhere that I could find that info?

85lscamaro 02-21-2011 09:16 AM

How much cam lift can the stock pistons clear?

motooleLS1 03-03-2011 07:33 PM

great breakdown of the numbers!!

Abuckeye 04-07-2011 02:09 PM

A lot of useful knowledge

Nebulus 07-11-2011 01:29 PM

Under valvetrain, where it says clearances, that would be piston to valve clearance, correct?

94camaroz28lt1 11-27-2011 12:28 AM

whats the out of round spec for the crank snout (ballancer end) I am guessing .001" across the board for LS1,LS2, 4.8/5.3/6.0L

Need to know for 07 LR4 4.8L hit hard upfront chipped ballancer, bent bolt, and ballencer, checked crank runout at nose (snout) less then .001"

OkieDave 01-30-2012 04:04 PM

Internal balance?

are these internal balance with nuetral flywheel? can I put a flexplate on a motor that originally came with a flywheel? also, will the stock plastic manifold hold 15 pounds of boost? thanks.

Nighthawk38 01-03-2013 11:23 AM

Thanks for taking the time to list all this

lsxdreamin 09-30-2013 12:52 AM

I'm looking at an Ls1 guys says its 383 trying to find out if true I measured the down stroke and wit measured 5 3/4 inches from top of the plug hole with 242 heads does anyone know if this is correct for a 383 or 346

Hi,

the engine spec list is great, but has anyone the measurements for the Camshaft Bearing Bores width (length)?

Thank you for any input in advance.

Greets

Dan

Blankenstang 08-01-2014 07:00 PM

I see that the valve face angle is 45* and the seat angle is listed as 46*.

Is this information correct? do they run interference valve jobs from GM?
