Default Know this cam? - 224/228 587/571 on a 113

1. Does this cam lope?
2. My goal is 420rwhp and anything over 400rwtq. Will this setup get me there?
3. These specs considered mild or aggresive?

I have an '01 6-speed C5 with Vortex intake and TTS headers currently making 340/355. The car will get CNC'd LS1 heads, an UD pulley and LS1Edit tune.

Thanks for helping out a forum newcomer!

prolly not 420 in a C5, but it depends

are you runnning cats? what catback?

I know a c5 that made 413.5 with TTS headers, stock catback, TEA 1.5 and TSP 224/581lift.

With out the bump in compression I dont know if your going to make it.

He did dyno lik 425 with open headers though!

I'm running C&L high-flow cats and a modified B&B cat-back (PRT-like.)
Was that C5 a 6-speed?

I dont have the exact cam, but something very close to it. My cam specs are 224/230 .587 .593 114. I gained 44rwhp 19rwtq with cam on stock heads with no pulleys or TB.
1. The cam does lope if u let the car idle at 800RPM, and if u set it at 850-900RPM it will be barly noticable.
2. I see it as a mild cam compared to what guys are running now. It my daily driver and people cant even tell that i have a cam inthe car.

Im sure u will get the 420rwhp ur looking at if u bought heads from GTP or LG. They seem to produce great consistent numbers and most of them are over 420rwhp. If my car did 392rwhp with a similar cam and no heads, pulleys, and TB.. I'm sure u will make over 420rwhp.

Good luck.

Hi there THE ONE!

I agree but i also think you will only get about 380 to 390 or so rwtq. This cam seems to be similar to the cams that Cartek are using with great success. Maximizing the power with this cam will be up to getting the best heads you can afford matched to the cam with professional dyno tuning!

BEst of luck and how's that C5 vert rollbar treating you?

Building on what MTI 427 said it looks very similar to the Cartek 224/228 113 LSA

Why not contact Cartek and go with their well proven 224/228 cam and their heads? They make great numbers with the C5.

I have a SRP 224/224 XE-R on a 113 LSA. I think the 113 is about perfect. My car makes 390rwtq at 4,000 rpms.

Odd N2O cam.
The .050 specs are obviously exhaust bias, but he .200 specs are damn near single pattern.
It's a pretty mild cam (0 degrees of overlap at .050) & should idle just fine & make plenty of power.
I'd recomend installing it on a 112ICL (1 degree advanced).

Yep - that's me! The One and only!

I'm diggin' the feedback on this cam so far. I considered the Cartek route, but I'm not trying to create a drag strip monster - just a great performer. I think my tuner has there sh*t together and will hook me up. Haven't been questioning their cam choice, just wanted to get a little history on it.

The car goes under the knife on Tuesday, so I'll let you all know how it goes. One thing I think I'll be doing soon after is upgrading to an LGM longtube or Kooks setup... not too sure how the TTS headers are going to play out in all of this. We'll see.
