Default Best Heads for the money

I just did a MS4 swap on my LS6 Firehawk. I think I might want to get some heads. The stock 243s seem good, and I like the numbers Iv seen them put out, but is there a better head for around $1500? Car has 90/90, Long Tubes, its gunna need a 12 bolt if I dont stop..The car is not a race car, its just a toy, Car shows stuff like that..Im just wanting a bit more if I can get it..my sweetheart wont let me spend too much lol!

You may be able to find some used AFR's for around 1500-2000ish assembled...

If not, TSP can hook ya up for sure.

Check for AFR or Trickflow used also PRC (texas speed) and Patriot heads seem to do good for the price. Id give slight nod to the PRC stg 2.5 5.3's but i duno how they work with MS4. I want them bc i have seen good gains with cam around my size

grab a set of 243's and have somebody that knows what their doing put a nice VJ with some blending in the right places. this would have you under budget with a nice gain too

for 1500 bucks its very tough to beat out TSP PRC heads. especially since your running an MS4 cam your better off just running heads from TSP since they are the ones who designed that cam.

Iv been looking at the PRCs 2.5 5.3 heads and for the price..thats not too bad. But am I really going to "feel" any difference over my stock 243s? I know dyno numbers will show it but if I was concerned about that I would rack up my credit cards..

Patriot..Im affraid I wont get much more than I have..I do Love there stuff Iv had or have..

Buy some as cast TFS heads. They supposedly only make 10rwhp less than the CNC'd version and that means they still make more power than other factory style massaged castings. You also get the thicker deck and resale value is better.

you make a good point. Further down the road you can also get them ported to make more power than the cnc 215's. But the only downside is the extra 400 for the roller rockers.
