Default LSA crank swap into LQ4 block

Wondering if there are any issues or changes that have to be made in putting GM LSA crank into an 2003 iron 6.0L block. Other than the 58T reluctor......timing chain, oil pump mounting, keyway?

If anyone's done the conversion chime in, tks.

Nope. You do need to use a 1 piece crank gear on your timing set though. Or you have to have the Key way modified

Is this the crank gear you're talking about? Is that the only piece that needs to be changed?

Sorry for all the questions, SBC guy here that's needs some info on LS platform. Will that gear work with Rollmaster chain set # CS1135, that's what I have purchased a while back. Thanks.

Yes that is the crank gear for the timing chain. A Lot of aftermarket gear sets for the LS engine have a 2 piece gear and they will not work On an LSA crank. You either need a longer Key way machined into the crank or a 1 piece lower gear.

Here is a picture of the key way on an LSA Crank.
I believe a company called Avon / Progear makes the billet 1 piece crank gear in there LS timing set.

For Future Reference I finally found the older ad showing the Avon / Progear timing set for LS engines. Not sure why they removed all this stuff from the current web site.

I think just about every other Aftermarket timing set on the market uses a 2 piece lower gear and pump drive.
