Default ETP, AFR or TFS

If you had a choice of heads who would you choose? This is the setup I will have. I have everything except the heads. Taking off my Stage 2 Patriots 64cc 243s and my Torquer V.3 cam to run a T-REX V.2. Can't use my Patriots, not enough PTV. So when I purchase heads im obviously going to dip into a nice set. So TrickFlow, ETP's or AFRs? I'm sticking N/A. Going to chase down Texas-Speeds stock bottom end record. Yes I know I have a long ways to go im not expecting everything to happen over night. Just gives me a goal and something to do for right now.

I have been happy with my AFR's. No experience with TFS or ETP, although I didn't think you could get ETP any more. I like the AFR valve drop being more than stock, the fact that they have stood behind their produce even when they had a production issue, and Tony spends time here helping guys out when they need it. Not too many companies announce they found a production problem before guys find out the hard way and provide a fix for free.

I like the ETP's but you can't get them new anymore.Right now we use TFS and they work great.

Little bit off topic but relating to the original question....Does flycutting disqualify one from the "stock bottom-end" class? Or is it considered acceptable?

I've been told it disqualifys due to altering the bottom end. Also wouldn't there be a loss of compression if one was to fly cut? I'm not trying to make this a pissing match like 9second up there thinks. I searched on this site for a good head combo with the T-REX and came up short so I thought I would try to get some feedback from guy running similar cam setups.

Default ETP's

Yes,

You can get ETP's. Being the original designer, I bought ET Last July. We are now Performance Induction. The products/cylinder heads are now "LXR"
We offer the PS1, PS1-R, PS7 and even more new race heads than before. We have always competed with AFR and Trick Flow in the past, The three of us all put out products that were similar in performance. we now offer some new products aimed at the 3.900 bore combos. We have revised all of our products and cleaned up all of the minor issues that they had back in the days of ETP.

for what you are doing, I would recommend any of aftermarket heads out there. as far as our product line, we have a 245-R for the 3.900 bore that would fit your build and would offer some room to grow if you ever decided to upgrade your short block.

Thanks Cary for the response. Could you please give a few more details about the 245-R your recommending. When you mean room to grow are you talking about porting/milling? I'm going to stick N/A and im guessing for what im trying to achieve im going to need a lot of compression etc. Any recommendation would be great about your product. Feel free to PM me or leave me a contact number and I'll get ahold of you after the holiday. Thanks and if I don't talk to you sooner have a good X-Mas

They have all been above 500RWHP...

and no flycutting is allowed...even race gas too, ask TSP

also you are correct flycutting does drop the compression some but you can make that up by milling the heads...

i am doing a semi all out build too, but my goals are 10.teens...9.66 if just crazy fast...

i have TFS 215s so you get the AFRs and we can compare

I would suggest PRC 237 heads.
