Default 408 stroker or lq9?

Have a hole in my number 5 piston, need to fix it but not sure on the route to go. Its a gen III lq9 6.0L. Texas speed has an all forged shortblock for $3800. 4.010 bore 4.000 stroke. Would it be worth it to go for that or just re sleeve my original block and redo it? Im pushing only about 4lbs of boost off a paxton. Its a dd and needs to be reliable. any suggestions would be great.

Well before you spend the the money look at it this way you are only daily driving it.... But everyone has a their own opinion on what they like? So i would honestly go the cheapest way out to get you back on the road again. I had the same problem with my old motor. Detination is a destructive ******* demon... If your looking at spending the money any which way for this and your gonna do a motor that you'll throw in a vette or f-body later on i'd call up www.LateModelEngines.com and ask for the supervisor Brian. By far the best customer service and warranty you can find for the price. Not to mention they built the motor on monday, finished friday, and shipped it the next week. I seen them featured in GM HighTech's ShortBlock ShootOut. Payed 4389.00, the works, forged, murdered out, race ready, 408 shortblock package.... I'd resleave your motor, by a set of forged pistons with rings then put it back together if your not gonna pull the motor later to put it in a car because you'll save yourself a headache.

Most people on here won't comment on applications like this sometimes. I know what it's like to have questions and nobody answering you back about anything. Thats where you learn to make judgement because you'll learn from your mistakes on anything performance lol Goodluck

haha thanks man, will the motor have to be rebalanced if i do the forged pistons though? I had a quote of $3200 to redo the cylinders and put forged pistons, keeping the stock crank. I thought that was a little high..

Sounds high to me. If you're going to spend 3200 I would go get Texas Speed's short block.
