Default 99 LS daily driver, heads any good?

I don't really know what the heads are like in a 99 LS1, but I would like to do a cam swap, possibly a 228, or something similar, and being on a budget, are the stock heads worth working over? Or would you get a different head, like the TSP LS6's, ect... The car is a DD and racing isn't a main thing, but would like to get over the 400rwhp level and be completly streetable as a DD.

Stock heads are 241s on your 99. there ok for a DD if your not gonna be worried about putting down huge numbers. alot of guys put down low to mid 4s with 241s it can be done. The setup together is what makes the numbers not just the cam and heads.

Id opt out for a set of 243s if you could, Ive seen an easy 30+HP gain with just 243s. there real nice heads. you can find sets around here for the 400 to 450 range and there two times better than 241s and if you wanna work them over later.
