Guys, this "tune" is not the final tune.

I guess after driving it around the block a few times and having it stall, surge, and just not be very happy Steve dropped it at Mike's place so he could do a quick touch up on what was there to make the car more drivable for his 45 minute ride to the alignment shop. Mike offered to do this before spending a bunch of time on the final version of the tune (which was pretty cool IMO that he offered to do that). They did quickly dial in some WOT parameters (leaving it safe/conservative) and got the car to behave alot better at idle and part throttle.

Alignment next.....final tune and some numbers (hopefully) late next week

Yes it was a tune just so he could enjoy the break in the snow and deep freeze. We got some 50 degree sunny weather for a few days.

Default Tony Mamo

hello Tony,

New to the LSX world, but very familiar w/ SBC/BBC. Question is for same application as the thread story.
With the AFR "new" 215cc head, what size intake valve would you use for a 4.070 or 4.125 bore (about 400ci).
The story motor used lightweight intake valves in the build, hollow stainless or titanium?
What would be delivery time, if I wanted a massaged set.

Thanks
Jim

PS We spoke briefly at PRI, you were busy

Where did you get those valve covers? I need some of those. Great numbers! Keep us up dated on the build. You should put it in the 408 sticky.

Thanks
Jon

Here's the update guys....

Track results to back both the engine and chassis dyno figures we witnessed a few months ago.

There is a bunch more in this car at the track in regards to trap speed (and ET of course). A reasonably sticky tire and a burnout and actually applying the power to the ground in the first few gears would easily put this car in the low 130's at over 2000 feet of altitude to boot!

You can tell how little he was WOT in the first half of the track by the 32 MPH gain in the back half. The bottom line is alot of the first half was spent peddling and short shifting due to traction issues with his 19" street radials. With 16" ET Streets....a D/A close to zero and a driver more familiar with launching a high powered hotrod at the strip and this car is creeping close to 135 in the quarter with close to stock-like drivability.

Good stuff....
