Default Stock valvesprings with aftermarket cam?

I got an 02 ss awhile back and it has a small 218 cam in it... just before christmas it started running terribly and come to find out it was a valvespring going out...well it broke and my shop replaced it with a stocker...the only specs I have are it's a 218 .561 114ls cam and it has morgan motorsports springs??? and uses cmp754-16 retainers...So how dangerous is it to run that stock spring? And what springs would you guys recommend to replace them all because I definitely don't trust them anymore...

A stock valve spring will not stand up to .561 lift. You need to replace all the valve springs.Pac 1218s good to .600 lift.

OP, you will be good with most springs rated to around .600 lift with that size cam. You dont need anything like a spring to .650 lift.

Heres what will happen if you run it. The spring will coil bind and break, dropping the valve into the cylinders. Good bye engine.....

Im running Comps 918s, they will work great for yours too
