Which lifters? I was going to go with ls7's but i will need to order new push rods and since mine are pretty much brand new i dont really want to do that... is there any lifters out there that can be used with the 7.400 push rods??? |
LS7's can be used with the 7.4's. They are the stock replacement lifter. |
i have been reading up on them and everyone is saying the cup is either higher or lower i can remember, so in turn i will either need longer or shorter push rods... |
what is the rest of your setup? milled heads? cam specs? what rockers? what head gaskets? |
Torquer v2 232/234 .595.598, ls6 heads not planning on any milling and stock head gaskets |
stock rockers also lol sorry |
i have the comp 850 oem style lifters with a 7.4 pushrod and works fine. |
The 7.4's should be fine with the LS7 lifters. The LS7's are said to be slightly taller than the LS1 lifters, but I don't remember how much. With that cam grind some people will run 7.425" pushrods to compensate for the reduction in the base circle, so the lifters being a bit taller should work out good. |
^^^^ 5.3 is right on that one. You dont buy lifters to fit your pushrods. Brad new/near new pushrods are worth something. You sell yours to offset the cost of new ones if you need them. I still recommend measuring. |
Ok cool thanks guys, i will do the ls7's and pick up a push rod length checker |
For the record, I sold my low mileage pushrods for $70 and went in $110 for some new ones. So $40 bucks to know its done right. Money well spent :thumb: |
