Default Patriot Performance Heads: Junk or Deal

I saw a set of Patriot Performance heads for sale today on the web. Their price was very cheap. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these?

Search will give you some info. They use good parts, work looks good, flow numbers look good. New castings... probably par for the course

I've done some searching and found they have a good rep as porters, but heard mixed on their castings.

I did some searches and read that their listed flow numbers are inflated, but not bad for the price

They're great if you like high-performance LS6 heads.

What is your budget? I got TSP PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads and honestly couldn't be happier with them.

I had looked at the TSP heads, but Patriot saves me a couple hundred dollars. The savings will buy hardened pushrods. I'm wanting to do head and cam, with supporting odds and ends (LS2 chain, LS6 pump, etc.) for under 2000. My small business is suffering this year and its hurt the budget.

i just bought a set of used stage two heads of a member here. They really woke up my engine and i have a 400ft burnout to show for it.Couldnt do that with my 853's. No numbers yet but they did make a HUGE improvment just by the seat of my pants

There seems to be campaign on this site to disparage these heads, but as someone who has dealt with Gunnar and purchased and installed the heads myself, I think they're great. The problem is that I don't have hard numbers to back my claim, just total driving satisfaction and seat-of-the-pants testimony.

The heads use top shelf components like SS valves, Patriot Gold Dual springs (.650"), titanium retainers, etc. etc. They look great, perform great, are a tremendous value, and Patriot offers the best customer service I've ever experienced. I have nothing to gain by writing this except the satisfaction of telling how happy I am with the heads. Good luck whatever you decide!

People have there preferences and their opinion will reflect just that...If your budget is real tight i say fu-- it get the patriots but if you can swing it go for the PRC from TSP...The reviews for them on this site as well as others tend to be better. i believe i have seen 475rwhp from the PRC LS6 stg 2.5s...Good luck with your setup!!!
