jegs ls1 to ls6 head cam package
i have an 01 formula with cai, lts, p+p throttle body and duals with a mail order tune. i am looking to purchase a 405 horse (c5 i believe) kit that was offered by jegs that includes fully assembled heads, cam, and ls6 intake. i already have an ls6 intake but i was wondering what kind of feedback these kits are getting? i am looking for reliable horsepower gains since the car is an m6 daliy driver. right now i have ran a best 13.6 at 110 on street tires.60 foot was like 2.5. driving left much to be desired. lol. after i do this kit i plan on a dyno tune. my main goal is to run low 12's, anything better being a bonus. any helpful info would be much appreciated. i am paying around a 1,000 for this kit with shipping. any helpful info would be much appreciated

You can do far better than this kit. I did a cheap set of Patriot Performance stage 2 heads and voodoo 222/228 cam with the LS6 intake and ported tb and put down 385RWHP with an auto. Look at http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/# Stage 2 head and and there stage 1 cam would probally put you at 400RWHP. There heads are far better than the Patriots that I have and the 224 cam is usually a good street/strip performance cam. I think I had gone woth the Livernois head I would have a little better numbers unless I have an exceptional set of cheappie heads. Another member used the same cam as mine with stock heads and upgraded springs and did less than mine but more than the kit you mention. Your kit is rated at flywheel not RWHP

Like the other guys have said look around at the other stuff available. You can do better for probably the same money. Lots of sponsors can set you up with a package that will out perform a ls6 top end.

We offer a PRC CNC Ported 241 head setup as stage 1.5 with your choice of TSP camshaft for $1099. I know it'll cost a little bit more than the combo your looking at, but rather than adding 30rwhp you'd be adding 80+....
Just something to consider....

i agree with jon.
i had my 2002 ws6 running 12.38 @ 112 with a 1.84 60 ft. only mods it had was slp lid, LM1 catback, and some 245/50/16 nittos. dropin the clutch at 4000 and cutting 1.8 60 fts. if you dropped for 60ft down .7 second you would see atleast a second come off that time. i know because first time to the track with the car is ran a 13.23 @ 109.4 with a 2.22 60 ft with the same mods but with stock 275 goodyear rubber. that was 7 months prior.
with your headers and duals you should be running very low 12s...unless you live in the mountains
i think you need the driver mod and some tires...no need to invest more money unless you want some mid to low 11s
