ls1 vs ls6 heads?

Building my 00 t/a and starting to run low on the bank. Bought a torquer2 cam from tsp. The shop doing my motor work, took my ls1 heads off. A buddy of mine has ls6 heads sitting in his garage i can have for $500. Worth my time to pick up the heads and sell mine? Need to decide by morning. And what are ls1 heads worth? Thanks in advanced

is it worth the swap you should see between 25-30+ more hp with the ls6 heads. hope this helps you out.

More like 15 hp going from LS1's to stock LS6's...U usually see LS6 heads going for 4xx.xx. How many miles on the heads. 500 sounds a drop steep.

I recently put Livernois ported 243 heads, mild cam, and LS6 intake on a C5, had it tuned and it feels like a 70 to 80rwhp increase. It already had full exhaust and CAI. I will be taking it for dyno tune soon.
Stock heads alone on stock motor probably worth 15-20 hp.:burn:

I did end up grabbing the ls6 heads. They were off a z06 vet with 9,000 miles. I felt the $500 was a little steep also, but hoping to make up the money on the stock parts I'm selling & hopefully i get my moneys worth in hp increase.

Paid 500ish for my stock 243's, feel an impressive gain but I will post track times once the track is open this spring.
Well worth the swap I'd say, if you have a little extra coin mill them for a bit more compression.

They're going on right now at the shop, banks getting low, need to sell stock parts to recoupe some of the extra $ I didnt plan to spend lol, but Im excited to see how everything turns out. Im doing the heads/cam, headers, intake, tb & gears all at once, hopefully it feels like a whole new car.

You can def. find them for 400-500 shipped. Just need to keep an eye out in the marketplace as they do show up every now and then.
