450s NA is pretty easy if you follow a proven formula. I'm going for 480 plus on the stock bottom this year.

I like this one as an ultimate goal though. https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...-550-rwhp.html

450 is way easy......

cam in the high 230's low 240's
anybodys higher level heads(some call it stage 3)
any fast 90+ intake/matching throttle body combo
longtube headers and exhaust of choice
a good tune

thats pretty much all it takes...
I've tuned dozens of fbodys and vettes with that basic combo and all made over 450 hp...usually around 6500ish rpms

500 would be very hard to do. although I got 419 on my LS1 GTO. With just a CAI, cam, LT's, catback, E85 tune and a ported TB. So it is possible with a really good set of heads milled with thin gaskets for really high compression, a big nasty cam, a ported FAST combo and E85. The E85 is what will get you that last 20hp needed to hit 500. That being said I really like your wheels, what are they?

Most stage 3 combos are not intended for stock cube/bore motors, no?

Thanks for everybodys input I know thats some very expensive stuff but Im the type of person that will wait for something greater to come than just being anxious and buy what I can afford at the moment.I had to learn that through out the years and im not married yet or have kids at the moment so that puts most of my money in the clear

im with you here lemons, yeah they usually consist of a 2.05 or 2.08 intake valve and require 4in+ bores. TSP has the 243 stage 2 or 2.5 with 2.02s...not to mention the 215s and possibly 227s they have!

not going to beat a dead horse but its pretty much been said, 450 is pretty attainable, 500 is pushing the limits and needs expensive parts. just do some more homework, spend a few hours in the dyno section and see what works for other people!

That motor never blew.

Pat G motor, another local with a Trex cam and some Tony Mamo ported 205 made right at 500rwhp also. There are several cars out there above 500rwhp on a stock short block.

You guys also have to remember, just because you have the same setup and a setup that SHOULD hit 510Rwhp, doesn't mean it will.

Dynos can be happy, they can be right on, and they can be off.

Just something to keep in mind.

450 can be done cam only. 500 whp HAS been done. not typical, it just takes alot of thought and planing, and a solid tune. i think a more realistic goal is 480-490, and more easily acheived.
