Help with lining crank and cam I'm putting a new cam and when I'm trying to line up the cam and crank, their is no dot on the crank sprocket to line the two up. It looks like their is a triangle pointing to a tooth. Is this what I use. I just don't want to be wrong lining it up and destroying the engine. Thanks. |
There is a dot on the crank sprocket. Its very small and right below the tooth. You may need a flash light to see it. Did you line the dots up before you took the old cam out? When i did mine i found it easier to line up my dots BEFORE taking the old cam out. That way i know the crank dot is completely vertical. Hope this helps. |
Unfortunately, I didn't line it up when I pulled the cam out because I just assumed it would be there. Well, now I'm kicking myself in the ass for not doing it. I I'll get a flashlight, but I looked close at it before and didn't see anything. |
looked at it with a flashlight and didnt see anything. |
Got it solved. |
