Crank won't turn over when installing TC. How hard should it be to turn the crank to install the torque convertor... I used a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a good amount of force and it still wont turn |
give err some more force. isnt too too hard. take the spark plugs out if you must, but that would be overkill. |
Changed the title for ya. Maybe you will get some more responses. |
Did you do anything else other than shut the car off, lift it up, and remove the transmission? Are you positive that the new torque converter is installed properly in the transmission and thus not putting forward pressure on the crankshaft and binding something? Did the trans go back up to the engine easily? Did the bellhousing come up flush to the block without too much fuss other than getting it onto the dowel pins? |
Well I dont have the trans mated to the motor now just trying t free up the crank/flexplate so I can rotate it when I install the tc |
Is this stock internal ls1? If so, not all that hard... as long as your on the crank good (dont slip off)your not going to break anything by turning it hard. |
Not at all tough. I would remove spark plugs |
