Default L92 vs. patriot stage 2 243's

I have a set of patriot stage two heads should I switch to L92 heads? I'll be running a n/a, high rpm (nearing 8,500), around 500hp, all in a light porsche road racing ls2. Any opinions? I know the flows of the L92 are quite a bit better are there any downfalls to the L92's? I don't know if I'd have the L92's ported even though I know its worth it.

stock l92's make awesome power across the board which would be great for road racing.

Odds are you can sell your heads and intake you have now and swap over to a l92/l76 topend and gain power everywhere for little to no cost except for the tune. But if you are going to spin it out that high it would really benefit you to have the heads ported and run a ported fast 102 setup as the stock ls3/l76 intake falls on its face if you are trying to spin it that high.

L92 valves are kinda heavy due to the size. Not usually a problem, but getting to 8500 you might have to pay some extra attention to valve float. I know one of the ls3/l76/l92 heads gets a lighter valve, not sure which.
Stage 2 243's should get you to your 500hp goal with a really good intake if you already have them.

Why spin it that high if you don't have to? What kind of cam you thinking about to even get up that high? You can make 500 crank horsepower a much lower rpm that won't stress the components nearly as much.

The LS3 has the lighter valves and you should go to a solid roller setup with a ported Super Vic and a big Accufab to spin those rpm's IMO...... I think you can meet your goals w/o a max effort setup.

The 403 going in my car in the next couple weeks should make 500 +/- rwhp on an A4 spinning in the 7000-7200 range with a ported 90/90......
