Default When pulling motor can I leave the tranny in the car ?

Is it possible to just unolt the tranny bolts and then pull the block/bellhousing
without pulling the tranny? If I do this will I be able to line it back up once I put it back in?

Yep it can be done, Me my Dad and my brother pulled it from the top with the tranny still in the car. It was our first time pulling an engine out of a car too
Be sure to loosen up the tranny mount some, support the front of the tranny with a jack and make sure you take out both headers( forgot to remove the pass side DOH) and it will come right out. I have the BMR tubular Kmember which made it a little difficult both coming out and going in due to the motor mounts being welded to the k member, but with the stock k member it should be no sweat. Just take your time and have plenty of friends around. Would I do it this way again........yeah, but I hope not for a long time

Thanks for the info guys, I have everything off the motor including ac/compressor and condensor, radiator/ power steering pump/ alternater/ pulley/ headers/heads / intake and wiring. It looks like Ihave a crapload of room. I was about to pull the tranny but it would be nice to leave it in there so tranny fluid doesnt poor out everywhere
