I finally got to dyno my car :) This is the same setup I've had since april of 2002 and went a 10.98 with, except I sold the carbon fibre drive shaft and reinstalled the factory aluminum piece. I also am on factory 16 inch wheels now.

My setup includes a Futral FM4 226/226 575/575 114 cam, Yank tp4400, 4.10's, ls6 intake, etc, etc. I am still using my 1st set of comp 26918's from april 2002.

We dyno'd both locked and unlocked. Needless to say I am very happy :)

Sorry about the quality of the graphs. It seems the software I used to resize the graphs does so at the expense of legibility.

That's pretty damn impressive!! Way to go man.

Revelation222 Jan 23, 2004 05:38 PM

Bout damn time :jest: Ive been waiting for someone to get some dyno time for this cam by itself in an A4. Those are great numbers. Congrats. How would the cam be for a daily driver? Ive got a VIG 2800 now, do you think I would need a larger stall with the 226?
Thanks and Congrats Again

Im definitely going with that cam.

Damian Jan 23, 2004 06:13 PM

FMS :hail:

PHIL H Jan 23, 2004 06:28 PM

His latest cams offer alot of choices too.. I am getting one!! :naughty:

Damian Jan 23, 2004 06:32 PM

You can't go wrong w/ FMS. Alan is a RACER. He does not play dyno wars. He win's races, and builds fast cars. If you want a FAST car, call Alan....PERIOD...

DAMN Impressive!!!!!! looks like a pretty broad powerband

Gary Z Jan 23, 2004 06:47 PM

Please pardon my ignorance but does "cam only" imply stock exhaust manifolds?

Cam only implies that the cylinder heads are completely stock. Instead of a "Heads/Cam" setup, it's "Cam only"....

Nice!!!!!

StreetStalkerZ Jan 23, 2004 07:53 PM

Those are some good numbers mike :D I guess i need to go dyno my setup just for fun now. Oh! i got all the stuff done on the car and i should have the FTRA on the car for my next track visit so i might be close to joining you ET wise

foff667 Jan 23, 2004 08:17 PM

its such usable powerband too...6000rpm peak hp...might even give you some spring/drivetrain longevity others wouldnt be able too...NICE :)

Kent1 Jan 23, 2004 08:26 PM

Very nice power across the curve and lots of horsepower. Your car was one of the first to be the fastest and you did an outstanding job to set the example for others. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the sharing the information and cam was definitely a good one. Cheers............... :hail:

This cam is an excellent daily driver cam. That's why I have it, and not some 230+ cam. The idle is fairly mild through a closed exhaust system, but with an open system you can hear the cam hit. Surging and stalling are not a problem with the fms tuning.

The cam will work fine with any stall. But it will produce better times with the tp4400 because of the shift extension as well as the better ET producing torque converter. The same could be said for any cam out there from stock to 230+.

Mike, looking at your dyno curve it looks like the 918s are doing very good with that cam.

Do you have any plans for the car or are you going to set back and wait for me to catch up to you ;) On your 11.0s-10.98 run was you on the rev limiter at the 1/4 with the 4.10s? Last time i went if i held the gas say 20-30 feet past the 1/4 i would tap the rev limiter and i was curious if the 4.10s maxed out around 121 on the 26x10 ET Drags. If i have problems next time with this then im going to have to switch back to 3.73s.

Very nice Mike. That is exactly the cam I've been thinking about changing to, unless Josh wants to PM me the specs to something else. :jest: :secret:
