I am cam only and have a ported TSP oil pump.

When i am idling and fully warmed I am a smidgen above 20 and sometime it will flicker under 20 psi. Is this ok?

What is everyone elses like?

cam only here, running about 60 psi (dash gauge) at idle...once the car warms up and I've been driving a while it mellows out around 45-50...

at 3000 rpms it is above 40 psi.

I have a ported TSP pump too. It is shimmed. What should I do?

I mean do you think it matters that it gets 120+ out here in the summer?

As long as its goin up to around 40psi under a small load then I wouldnt worry. Now if drops under a load...yikes. I have seen both sides of the fence with the ported pumps. Mine is a ported LS6 pump and it idles at around 30ish.

I sit around 20psi at idle using 5w30 Mobile One. Once I give it gas or start driving it's around 45-50 psi and that's on a ported LS6

How long have you been driving with oil pressure like this? Mine sounds exactly like yours does.

On a factory guage mine is about 45 PSI..65 PSI while driving around...keep in mind that we are looking at info from a major POS guage/sending unit. If you really want to know what your oil pressure is try using a real guage instead of the factory crap on your dashboard...

Rule of thumb: for every 1k rpms, you want 10psi oil pressure.

When I was cam only w/ ported ls6 oil pump, I idled around 40psi, and hit 70 @ WOT.

Now, with cam/heads, etc, I idle around 45psi, and cruise around 55-60psi!
