Default few ? before i build the top half of my motor

so i am building up my 383 while it is out of my car but have a few questions first.

how do i safely remove the crank gear and put it onto my new crank?
what do i torque the windage tray and the tray in the oil pan bolts to?

A lot of guys just use a small 3 jaw puller on them. Once it pops loose it will just slide off the crank.

The stock windage tray nuts will torque to 18 ft lbs.

in lb divided by 12 --> ft lb

e.g. 120 in lb --> 10 ft lb.

bore the holes out till it fits. three jaw puller will get crank gear off. get yourself a new crank gear.

do you guys think a 240/256 .64x/.64x 11lsa with stock ls6 heads and stock ls6 valves, with a .045 gasket and -7cc pistons will fit without flycutting the pistons more?
