Default LS2 timing chain set fit LS1?

I was wondering if the timing set from an LS2 will fit my '98 LS1 directly or if something will need to be modified. Thanks. C3.

Thats what I figured, another q, what all comes when you buy a timing set? 2 gears and a chain, is that it? From Texas-speed.com it shows a couple other things with bolts what are the bracket thingies?

Those are oil pump spacers with matching longer bolts. With thicker gears, they would touch the oil pump bc its mounted directly in front of the chain. You have to space it out in order to move it away from the chain so it doesn't rub the back of the pump.

Would I still need them if I have an LS6 pump?

If I used stock gears with the bigger chain, do you need to space-out the oil pump? <Please say no, because I didn't!!!>

The spacers are required only if the chain is double-width (what the link in post #3 shows)...

The LS2 chain is single-width and is a direct replacement (does not need the spacers).
