Post Gen III LS2 short block - Which heads to use?

I just bought a Gen III LS2 (cast# 12568952) short block for my 70 Chevelle. I've read a bunch of posts about heads and i know their is quite a few options out there. I'm looking to put this block together piece by piece with the necessary parts to get me in the ballpark of 500 RWHP.

So to those of you that have been there done that, which heads would you pick to achieve that goal? I'd kinda like to stay with a OEM GM head if possiblejust to keep the ost down since i've got a lot of other parts to buy right now. If that's not an option i understand.

I'm open to suggestions and i'm working with a clean slate here.

Thanks

A 6.0 truck motor making over 500. Even a carb setup if you want to stick with the oem look under the hood.

You could go with a fully CNC'd 243/799 head casting and likely get very very close to your goal of 500 to the wheels. Or you can run the newer square port matching heads/intake with the L92 heads and likely hit about the same numbers or a little higher.

I like the flow numbers the l92 heads advertise but i am not completely sold on the real world attributes. In one of tony mamos last posts a set of his afr 230s out performed them. I would say go with the afr 215/230 or Tfs 215/225 and there is always tfs 220 if budget is first priority. i have first hand experience with a ported stock casting there good for the money but...My next set of heads will be afr 230s! of course MAMOFIED!!I am a firm believer u get wha u pay for..

500 motor? 500 to the wheels through an auto? what are you looking for and what is your budget.

Your car is big & heavy, does that suggest anything regarding your cylinder head choice?
