Default found a deal on a cam...is it good for what i wanna do?

So, i've been against putting a cam in my car for a long time...mainly cuz my car is my DD and cuz of the hurt gas mileage, the price for cam kits, and the labor involved.

Well...i found a deal from a buddy for a 224 565/564 comp cam (i think those are the numbers) for a $150.

And to handle the labor a buddy of mine's bro in law has a shop with a 4 point lift....and he offered to let me borrow his S10 for the duration that my car would be under the knife.

So, it seems that i have a deal thats too good to pass up, all things considered.

but, what i would really like to know is: what kind of power gains will i see? and how bad will my mileage be hurt? Is this cam a good cam for a DD/weekend warrior that might see a 100 shot from time to time?

i know, i know...i want to have my cake and eat it

I think it would work well for you. I've DD'd cars with much more cam with no problems. Your drivability will still be pretty damn good and will pick up quite a bit. I daily drove a cam only car for a long time with the TSP torquer2, made 400/370, and still got 25 mpg on the highway. Got about 15-16 in town driving with 4.11s as well.

Don't forget about tuning after the cam.

That will help with the mileage too.
