01 Z28 maf question

I recently bought a slp 85mm maf and noticed a drop in torque and possably hp. normally my car on a rolling 35mph start will chirp the tires or break em loose
now with the maf on there ive noticed they break loose at around just 30 i know its only a 5mph diffrence but latly ive noticed a slighter pull than before when just floorin it on the highway. ive read a tune is necessary when going from a stock to a bigger maf is this true? and i have a the slp lid, ultra z ram air hood, and just ordered the smooth bellow. im looking into getting new gears but not sure on whats best just for a daily driver around a small town. thanks for the help guys and i appreciate any help.

Go back to the stock MAF or try to get the slp maf tuned. Anything other than stock is likely going to be a pain in the ass for the tuner. There is a slight hp advantage to going up to 85mm but it's only worth it if the tune is dead on.

The 85MM MAF is a waste of money. It will mess up your tune. The stock MAF is good for up to 500 RWHP.

It could support 500rwhp but there is going to be a bigger vaccum in the plenum with the bottlenecking stocker vs the 85mm z06 maf. I've seen a few dyno sheets online where the bigger MAF was worth around 6-7rwhp at 410-430rwhp level. If the tuner is not going to spend the time to get it dead on than stay with the stocker though.
