Question KATECH ROD BOTS-will people who has swaped to them without honing shine in..please

im thinkin bout changing my rod bolt this spring an putting in katech rod bolt doing it one at a time i just want to see how many people have used katech bolts an been sucessful at it without engine failure......(buddy of mine is running the same setup i have shifting at 6800 on stock rod bolts an one or more of the rod bolt failed an well i think u get the pitcure.....please people with katech bolt respond..

I've used them with great success to 7K rpm. Easy install too, one at a time, removing ferrules.

Mine have 12,000 miles on them, have seen the dragstrip launching at 6000+, autox 3500-5000rpm in 2nd gear, and 20 minute track sessions. No problems at all. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

Ask me about valve springs, that's another story.

Had mine in for about 2 years now. Got atleast 300 passes on the car and my limiter is set at 7700. I usually shift around 7450 ish.

hell ya ...dude i like hearing all this great news bout them i was really nervous bout changing them but im feeling better bout doing it now

damn now thats some shifting are u on stock rods an pistins???

Yup stock block/ stock heads with upgraded valvetrain.

I have like 10k on mine,i turn like 6600 with mine,never had a problem.Just use the directions and change em 1 at a time

What makes using these bolts different than others? Why don't you have to recondition rods?

Every other fastener manufacturer and GM would have you recondition rod, including any engine builder I've ever dealt with.

Because they are an exact duplicate of OEM but with better materials. You can replace them 1 at a time therefore not moving the cap, therefore no requiring rehone.

So if I changed the rod bolts before I took off rod caps to check bearings would I then be able to change bearings with no further issue's from rod bolt upgrade?

i don't abuse mine as some members above lol...ie. 7400ish(wow). i shift around 6500. they are great. just FOLLOW the directions one at a time and burmish(sp?) the threads
