Aftermarket oil pan, new dipstick?

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, looks like a great place. I recently converted my 1986 Porshce 951 to an LS1 from a 2004 GTO. I have a somewhat obscure question. For clearance around the cross member I changed the pan to a Moroso #20140. The dipstick was in the stock oil pan so obviously that wasn't going to work, so I pulled the small freeze plug out of the block on the drivers side. The dipstick tube seemed to fit in really good, but now I don't know what I should get for the actual stick bit. I'd rather not drop a ton of money on one of those flexible jobbies, but if I have to I will. As a general reference, how deep should the oil be in the pan? Should it be level with the deep well part and not have any in the shallow end, lower? higher?

Thanks for any help,

Luke

I think a tube by Lockart will work

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming "Lockhart" is a brand? I can't find too much on Google though.

I think he meant Lokar.
