Can I ask a question too, what are the advantages of a gear drive setup?

Spot on timing always.
No chain to wear out.
No chain to break and snap off the front of your block.
The sound.

They will drive your knock sensors nuts though so get rid of those.

According to the product description it says the gears are cut for quiet operation. But buying them just for sound would definitely fit in with the new internal engine theme here.

Why do they drive the knock sensors nuts for?

Is that video really what they sound like? Sounds like a bad powersteering pump to me

i would never jsut run them for sound. I do think they sound cool, but if i ever did it would 100% not be for the sound.

Some of my friends ran them in their 60's mustangs. They sound like absolute **** and the high pitch whine will drive you nuts while cruising. Trailer, track only car sure why not. If you drive the car anywhere you will hate it.

Around the 2:20 minute mark you can really hear it.

Boring inside view cruise, annoying *** gear drive whine the whole time

I was sure you were more interested in the mechanical advantages. The joke was pointed at all the "best sounding cam" and "what cam sounds like MS4" type threads I've been seeing alot of lately.

Any idea how scary the price is on that gear drive? Mast doesn't have pricing on their site so I assume it must be absurdly expensive. Which ironically also fits into the norm of pricing for anything LSX when compared to SBC.

I'll take my LS2 chain for $120ish without the horrible sound.
