5.3 cam swap to LS1 cam. Looking for real answer. Doing a 5.3(799 heads) to keep the car rolling for now. I have an Ls1 cam laying on the bench(.500/.500 lift), not the smaller Ls1 cam. I am installing an UD pulley while it's on the stand. Question is, IS IT WORTH SWAPPING THE 5.3 CAM FOR THE LS1 CAM? I keep getting answers from people who have never done this. I would like opinions from those who have tried this and said "hell yea" or said "no gain" or the 5.3 did not like it at all. It will cost nothing to do but, I don't want to screw with it for 5 hp or negative effects. Surely some one has done this over the years.
